MR. MAX’S MESSAGE
– MAY 2010
WHY DO WE GO TO
By the time this is published I will
have the CD Why Do We Go To War? in my hands. I went with Ken
Cmar at Wonderdrug for the manufacturing of the disc. He has a brand
spankin’ new CD duplicator and he’s spreading the word that his
new hi-tech diskinator (my term, not his) does a higher quality job
than the older ones. I’m already getting the promotion vehicle warmed
up—checking the oil and filling up with high octane. I’ve dug out
some of the press that I received in the past and it is very impressive.
Ed Symkus wrote a wonderful cover story (Cambridge Chronical/ Cambridge
Arts) when I gathered 44 vocalists and a star-studded 13-piece band
to record “End War Now.” The color photo shows me in my American
flag shirt in front of the vocalists in the project. One of the other
pieces of press I’ll be re-using is Michael Marotta’s T Max Making
Noise For Peace article that ran in the Herald on October 2, 2008.
This was when “End War Now” went to the top of Neil Young’s Living
with War chart (made up of over 2,800 songs).
TIME TO PLAY AGAIN
Now that the CD is ready, I’ll be
switching gears from recording to playing live. I debuted the live performance
of Why Do We Go to War? at Northeastern University. I’ll be
playing at the Roast for Carmelita at the Magic Room (155 N. Beacon
St., Brighton, MA) along with Asa
Brebner & Friends.
Asa did the artwork that is displayed on Why Do We Go to War?
He also recently released his own CD Sueños De Los Muertos.
